Affiliate & advertising disclosure

The short version: BargainHive is reader-supported. When you buy through some of our links, we may earn a small commission. We also run display advertising. None of this changes which products we recommend or how we score them.

Affiliate links

BargainHive participates in affiliate programs operated by retailers and affiliate networks. When you click an affiliate link on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a commission. The commission is paid by the merchant — you do not pay more as a result.

The networks and programs we work with currently include:

  • Amazon Associates
  • Awin
  • Impact
  • Rakuten Advertising
  • CJ Affiliate
  • ClickBank (selected categories only)
  • Direct partnerships with brands when offered on commission-only terms

Affiliate links on our site are marked with rel="sponsored" and a clear, in-context disclosure.

Amazon Associate disclosure

As an Amazon Associate, BargainHive earns from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

Display advertising

We use Google AdSense to serve display ads on a subset of our pages — primarily on long-form buying guides. Ad placements are clearly labeled "Advertisement" and are kept visually distinct from editorial content, navigation, and our own affiliate calls-to-action.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) to obtain consent for personalized advertising before any personalized ads are served. For visitors in U.S. states with applicable privacy laws (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, etc.), we honor opt-out signals including the Global Privacy Control (GPC).

How commissions affect our coverage

They don't.

  • We do not accept payment for placement, ranking, or favorable coverage.
  • We do not give merchants advance review of our coverage in exchange for affiliate participation.
  • Our scoring rubric is published per category and applied consistently regardless of whether a product offers affiliate revenue.
  • When two products score equivalently, we use the same tie-breaker rules each time, and we document the tie-breaker on the page.
  • If a merchant ends an affiliate program or refuses one, that does not affect that product's score.

Free product samples

Where a brand sends a product to us at no charge, we say so directly on that product's page. A free sample does not change our scoring, and we do not allow brands to review or approve copy before publication.

Sponsored content

We do not publish sponsored articles, sponsored "best of" lists, or paid-for-placement reviews. If we ever did, it would be labeled "Sponsored" at the very top of the page in unmistakable language — and it would not be incorporated into our ranking content.

You can choose not to click affiliate links. You can choose to disable personalized ads via your browser, your device settings, or the consent controls on this site. You can read our privacy policy for details on data we collect, why, and how to exercise your rights to access, deletion, or opt-out where applicable.
